An antique shell cameo brooch depicting Aurora, the goddess of the dawn, flying before the chariot of Apollo, god of light, with the clouds of night rolling away before them, surrounded by a chain of dancing female "hours", and the putto, Phosphorus, a personification of the Morning Star, bringing light to the world, designed after the work of Guido Reni, on the ceiling of the garden pavilion of Palazzo Rospigliosi, in Rome, claw set, mounted in a modern 14ct gold frame, circa 1870.
