An antique gold coiled snake bracelet, the head is set with an oval, old-cut diamond, in a rub over setting, in a cluster surround of rose-cut diamonds and cushion shaped ruby eyes, it is engraved to represent scales, the open mouth features teeth and a tongue, the body is of woven wirework, with a steel spring core, and an engraved, cone tail, mounted in gold, circa 1870. In Victorian symbolism the coiled snake symbolised eternity.
