After making the company a limited liability company in 1907, Dawson sold the company, in 1931, to RHO Hills department store (now House of Fraser). The resulting company operated until around 1935. Today Stewart Dawson is owned by New Zealand-Australian retail company the James Pascoe Group, acting as the group's luxury jeweller in New Zealand.
