Egyptian Revival Carved Amethyst and Gem-Set Brooch, Austria-Hungary
An Austro-Hungarian, Egyptian Revival, pharaoh's head, gem-set brooch, with a carved amethyst head, wearing a Nemes headdress, in green and white, cloisonné enamel, with twisted wire edging, topped by round faceted rubies and a demantoid garnet, in rub over settings, with rose-cut diamonds surrounding the head and shoulders, the collar is decorated with a ruby, green, brown and white, cloisonné enamel and gold granulation, mounted in gold, with the Austrian A mark, and the Austrian gold mark for small, 14ct fine articles of a fox head and A 4 for Vienna, used between 1867 - 1922, two MB maker's marks, Circa 1880.
