Antique French Old Cut Diamond and Silver Upon Gold Fringe Necklace, Circa 1880

A French, antique, diamond drop necklace, featuring a graduating, old mine-cut diamond set fringe, of alternating, claw set diamond topped, grain set trefoils and reverse teardrops, with round, old mine-cut diamonds below, in pinched, trefoil settings, onto a backchain set with rose-cut diamonds, in pinched, trefoil settings, mounted in silver-upon-gold, with two boars' heads marks for silver, with a sideways fitting, box and tongue clasp, numbered p272, with a French eagle head mark for 18ct gold, on the tongue, over an indistinct maker's mark, circa 1880. Estimated total diamond weight 12.00 carats.
