Antique Diamond Pearl Sapphire Ruby Emerald Silver and Gold Butterfly Brooch, Circa 1900

An antique diamond, pearl, sapphire, ruby, emerald, silver and gold butterfly brooch, with wings pavé set with old mine-cut diamonds; with brown rose-cut diamonds, where they join the body; rubies in the upper wing tips; emeralds in the eyes and lower wing tips, in grain settings; with a single oval sapphire in each upper wing, in claw settings and a single oval ruby in each lower wing, in claw settings; an old-cut diamond in the thorax, in a silver rub over setting and a long baroque pearl abdomen, mounted in gold, with engraved antennae and legs; with a pin and c catch fitting with later trombone safety clasp, circa 1900.
