French Antique Fraumont Diamond, Silver and Gold Necklace and Earrings Suite, Circa 1855

A French antique Fraumont diamond necklace and earring suite, with a drop pendant, set with an old-cut diamond, in a claw setting, surrounded by a circle of grain set diamonds and a border of graduated old-cut diamonds, with three suspended old-cut diamond drops, the necklace is set with bars of grain set diamonds, alternating with claw set single diamond, with a fringe of suspended diamond set bars and single claw set old-cut diamonds and a pair of drop earrings, set with an old-cut diamond, in a claw setting, surrounded by a circle of grain set diamonds and a border of graduated old-cut diamonds, mounted in silver-upon-gold, circa 1855, with maker's marks for Fraumont. Estimated total diamond weight 20.60ct.

Auguste Fraumont was working in Paris, at 51, rue Neuve-des-Petits-Champs. His name and address appear in directories in 1847 and 1859. His maker's mark, an ear of wheat between an A and an F, was registered on 21st July, 1855.
